St. Arsenius the Great

Handpainted · December 2025

St. Arsenius once lived in the royal court before becoming a monk in the Egyptian desert. The Coptic Church remembers him for his prayer, humility, and love of silence. His hand over his mouth recalls the saying attributed to him: “I have often repented of having spoken, but never of having been silent.”
