Pope Kyrillos VI & St. Mina

Handpainted · January 2026

This icon depicts St. Pope Kyrillos VI, the 116th Pope of Alexandria, alongside St. Mina the Wonderworker, an Egyptian soldier and martyr. Between them is a well, recalling the Coptic tradition of a sick sheep miraculously healed by water and sand near St. Mina’s burial place. Deeply devoted to St. Mina, Pope Kyrillos VI laid the foundation of his modern monastery at Mariout in 1959.
